Useppa is an island, but it feels much more like a small community. The mail leaves on the 9:00 am boat and incoming letters and packages are delivered to an old-fashioned mailroom in the afternoon. In case of a medical or fire emergency, Useppa is covered twenty-four hours a day by a 35-year veteran of the fire service, as well as a certified firefighter, paramedic and physician assistant trained in Emergency medical care. A launch runs back and forth to the mainland in the mornings and afternoons. Golf carts and kayaks can be rented to tour around the island. If there are special requests, Useppa staff members will go out of their ways to help.
